Give a Child a Voice
More than 1,600 Omaha children are entangled in the foster care system because of abuse and neglect. CASA Volunteers provide an innovative, cost-effective approach to a very urgent crisis.
Your donation helps ensure that children who have experienced abuse or neglect grow up in safe, permanent, and loving homes.
- It costs $1,013 per year to provide a CASA volunteer to help a child navigate their way to a safe, permanent home.
- It costs taxpayers more than $43,000 per year to provide child welfare services for children in foster care.
- Donor dollars are optimally leveraged because funds are used to train and support volunteers who provide support for the children through donated time.
Your one-time or recurring donation gives children who have experienced abuse or neglect a powerful voice in court and in our community.
Your gift trains volunteer advocates to become a voice for a vulnerable child in foster care. Donations of any amount provide needed services to support abused children.
CASA for Douglas County partners with a network of child-serving agencies in our community to distribute Project Hope Packs, containing essential hygiene and comfort items and serve as a sign of hope to boost children’s spirits and promote dignity and resilience in the face of adversity.
Your gift provides children in foster care the opportunity to participate in “normalcy” activities, like senior pictures, sports, and art classes.
Your gift helps to provide an evening of holiday fun at the Omaha Children's Museum full of food, gifts, games, and positive memories.
