Racial Disparities in Food Insecurity Among Youth

This presentation will speak to the reality of food insecurity among youth, specifically in BIPOC communities. It will draw from national, local, and organizational data from No More Empty Pots.

By the end of this Zoom presentation, advocates will:
• Understand the role of race in food insecurity
• Be familiar with the impact of food insecurity in youth
• Learn of policies and strategies meant to address these disparities

Biography:
Kate Swinarski is the Evaluation and Advocacy Manager for No More Empty Pots. She began there as a social work practicum student in 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Creighton University and is currently completing a Master of Science in Urban Studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Participants will receive 1 hour of continuing education credit.
