Meet Joe Miller & Holton Harman, the 2024 CASA Classic Chairs

CASA for Douglas County has scheduled the 4th Annual CASA Classic golf tournament for August 26, 2024 and are excited to announce Joe Miller & Holton Harman as the 4th Annual CASA Classic chairs!

“Hello, my name is Joe Miller, I have spent my entire life in Omaha Nebraska.  I have been a CASA volunteer and advocate for over four years now.  I have served with several nonprofit organizations in the past, but nothing compares to my experience and sense of service that CASA has given me.  In my professional life I have been in the financial services industry for over 30 years in Nebraska where I manage and coach a team of 25 representatives helping clients protect the things that matter the most.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart Lori for 40 years, together we have two children and 3 grandchildren.  CASA needs our help more than ever.  Let’s get this done.”

“Hello! My name is Holton Harman and I am on the committee for the CASA Classic. I’m born and raised in Nebraska, and I have a passion for making a positive impact on everyone I meet. As a recent graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I’ve started my career as a Multiple-Line Insurance agent at American National, where I enjoy helping people safeguard their futures. I’m excited to be serving on the committee and I look forward to putting together a great event for everyone involved. Let’s tee it up for a great cause!”

Joe and Holton are joined by Pam & Lyle Knox, who were the 2023 CASA Classic Chairs and the 2024 Honorary Chairs. You can read more about them here.

“Public awareness, and advocacy are key factors to decrease the trauma children endure due to abuse and/or neglect,” says Kimberly Barnes, Executive Director at CASA for Douglas County. “The annual CASA Classic serves as a platform to raise awareness about the mission of CASA for Douglas County. Secondly, the funds raised during this event afford CASA the opportunity to continue its work advocating for children impacted by the Child Welfare System. Thank you to our 2024 Chairs for sharing in this responsibility to ensure the safety of children.”

Looking back at the success of the last tournament, it's clear that our community's commitment to our mission knows no bounds. Thanks to the generous support of sponsors and participants, we surpassed our initial $50,000 goal by an astounding $10,000. The resounding success of the event is a testament to the shared dedication to creating a better future for children in need.

Building on the momentum of the past, we're raising the bar even higher this time. Our sights are set on a formidable goal of $75,000. With each contribution, no matter how big or small, we are paving the way to becoming true champions for children impacted by the child welfare system. Your support is the driving force behind this initiative, and together, we can make a lasting difference.

Join CASA for Douglas County as we take a swing at providing a CASA Volunteer Advocate for every who is in need of consistent support. Sponsorships will open soon, so stay tuned for the announcement.
